The record first.
Then you decide.
After an accident, people often hire the first lawyer they see advertised, or ask a friend. California Injury Guide is for checking before you choose: a plain directory of personal injury law firms in California, each linked to its lawyer’s State Bar of California profile and showing what the firm states about itself, with sources. You read the listings and contact a firm yourself.
A directory, not a referral service.
California Injury Guide is not a law firm and not a lawyer referral service. We do not recommend, endorse or refer anyone to a lawyer, we do not choose a firm for you, and we do not take or pass on the details of anyone’s case. Lawyers do not pay us for referrals or a share of fees. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship.
A first collection, with room to grow.
The directory includes 391 firms across 72 areas. It is a researched starting point, not a complete list of California personal injury lawyers. Some firms meet clients by appointment or at several offices; where a firm publishes no street address we say so rather than guess one.
Sourced facts only.
We use each firm’s own website and office pages, official business listings and the State Bar of California’s public attorney profiles. Every listing links to its sources and shows when we checked them. A check date does not mean the firm updated its page that day.
Published office hours use California local time (Pacific). Unknown hours stay unknown. Map pins are approximate. Your location is only used in your browser to sort by distance — it is never sent to us. Initials appear when we have not sourced a usable logo.
The State Bar record.
Every listing links the State Bar of California profile of at least the firm’s lead attorney. A listing is published only when that record reads Active. We record the license status, the year of admission, whether public discipline is on record (yes or no, with the profile linked — we never summarise or characterise discipline) and any certified specialty, shown only as “Certified Specialist in <area>, State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization”. Records change: open the profile for the current record. How to check a lawyer.
The trust check.
Every listing shows the same list of facts, each as found or not found, with its source. It is not a rating, score or ranking.
- Real, sourced business. Contact details from official sources.
- State Bar of California attorney profile. Linked, with the record as it read when we checked.
- State Bar number published on the firm’s own site.
- Se habla español. Whether the firm’s site says it serves clients in Spanish.
- Languages spoken, as stated.
- Free consultation stated.
- Contingency fee stated. Quoted as the firm says it. California requires contingency fee agreements in writing (Business and Professions Code §6147); the agreement is what counts. Contingency fees explained.
- 24/7 availability stated.
- Office locations, as stated.
Statements appear as the firm makes them, linked to the page where it says so. We don’t verify them independently, and they can change, so confirm with the firm before you rely on one.
No ratings, reviews or results.
We do not show star ratings, review counts, reviews, testimonials, endorsements, case results, verdicts or settlement amounts, and we do not call any lawyer “best”, “top” or “expert”. Listings are ordered alphabetically or by distance, never by a score.
Photos and names.
Photos come from the firms’ own websites and linked business profiles. We label them and link every image to its source. We don’t use stock images or map imagery. Firms can request a replacement or removal through the correction form. Firm names and logos identify the firms and belong to their owners.
What “Advertisement” means.
Some listings are marked “Advertisement”. These are paid placements: the firm pays a flat fee for visibility in a labelled spot. It is never a fee per lead, call, case or referral, and never a share of legal fees. An advertisement is shown in its own labelled space and never as the first result of the directory list. It is not a recommendation, and it never changes a firm’s trust check, State Bar record, sources or photos.
For law firms.
Claim requests and suggested corrections are free. Requests are held for review; submitting a form does not change a public listing or prove ownership. Ownership should be established through a contact that was independently published before the request.
Who runs this site?
California Injury Guide is a Winback Engine project. Winback Engine works with local businesses on reconnecting with past customers. Firms can choose to ask about that service; it is separate from a free listing and has no effect on any listing.
This site is a directory, not a law firm or lawyer referral service. We do not recommend, endorse or refer you to any lawyer, and lawyers do not pay us for referrals or a share of fees. Listings marked “Advertisement” are paid placements. The information here is general, not legal advice, and using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship. Check any lawyer's license on the State Bar of California's website (calbar.ca.gov).
